Welcome

Rockmount N.S. is a rural mixed primary school, situated approximately three miles from Miltown Malbay , under the patronage of the Catholic Bishop of Killaloe. It was established in 1865 as two separate schools, one for boys and one for girls. The schools amalgamated in the 1930’s and it has been extended and renovated in the last number of years.

The staff works to ensure a child-centred approach and a friendly atmosphere in the school.

The school follows the curriculum as laid down by the Department of Education and Skills. While academic studies are central to our children's education, the school also promotes a rounded approach. Children are involved in a broad range of extracurricular activities including G.A.A., swimming, athletics, music, quizzes, Greenschool’s activities, I.C.T., Speech and Drama and Discover Primary Science.

Both classrooms have interactive whiteboards and the children have access to laptops, P.C.s, digital cameras and a large range of educational software.

Outside facilities include a school yard, a basketball court and a large football field.

This website will allow ease of access to all the information that parents and children may need on all areas of school life e.g. enrolment, school activities, policies, school holidays, booklists etc.
